Julian Mund

Julian joined the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association as Commercial Services Director in 2013 and became Chief Executive in 2017.
Prior to this he worked at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) for almost 16 years. He undertook a variety of roles such as the Managing Director of their commercial company and their Director of Operations. He led on business growth and strategic development across CIPFA's commercial business as well as the delivery of their member services.
Julian worked on school policy at the Department for Education before joining CIPFA.

Girish Menezes

Premier Pensions

Girish Menezes is Head of Administration at Premier Pensions. He is well known within the UK pensions and benefits industry and is a regular media contributor producing high-quality thought-leadership and technical articles. He has a Masters in Management from the London Business School, is Board Director of the Pensions Administration Standards Association and is the Chairman of the Pensions Management Institute, London Group.

Alison Hatcher

Global Head of Pensions


Alison Hatcher, Global Head of Pensions, has worked with the Client Strategy team in London since 2015 and has over 14 years' experience working in the Pensions Industry. Alison is responsible for understanding the needs of our pension clients, the evolving legislative environment and market influences that will affect them. Alison is leading the strategy in Retirement Savings Globally and the relationship with our own Group Pension Scheme. She represents pension's policy within Europe (Efama) and the UK (various investment committees) and is on the board of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association in the UK. Alison is a spokesperson for Retirement Savings generally, Regulatory Change and Diversity. Alison joined HSBC in 2011 and has been working in the industry since 2005. Previously, Alison was Director within Institutional Sales at HSBC Global Asset Management in London and was responsible for Institutional Clients. Alison holds a BA Hons in Law & Business from Warwick University and a MSc in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School in the UK

Gareth Tancred

Chief Executive

Pensions Management Institute

Gareth Tancred is the Chief Executive of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI). He is responsible for the development of strategy, operational plans to deliver it and the executive management and administration of the PMI.
Prior to joining the PMI, Gareth was the CEO of the British Institute of Facilities Management where he oversaw significant domestic and international growth, creating a stronger voice for the profession and working with Government on a number of initiatives for the benefit of the economy and society.
He has over 18 years' experience at Board level, ranging from SMEs to large UK, European and international organisations, with an extensive portfolio as CFO.
Gareth became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1994, having qualified in 1992.

Jenny Condron

Chair of Assocation of Consulting Actuaries


Jenny graduated from Oxford University in 1991 with an MA in Mathematics. She qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) in 1994.
Jenny became the Chair of the Association of Consulting Actuaries in June 2018. She previously served as Honorary Treasurer from 2014 - 2018 and chaired the ACA's Professional Affairs Committee until end 2017.
Jenny joined Mercer's Edinburgh office in 1991 as an actuarial student and has spent the following years working with a broad range of clients and their pension arrangements as both a Scheme Actuary and corporate actuary. She transferred to our Glasgow office in 1998 and then moved to the Windsor office as the Retirement Business and Local Market Leader in 2007.
Jenny was appointed as Mercer UK's Chief Actuarial Officer in 2017 and was a member of the UK DB Wealth leadership team until the end of 2018.

James Riley



James a qualified actuary with nearly 20 years' experience providing strategic advice to corporate sponsors of some of the UK's largest pension plans.

He has a particular focus on member option / liability management projects, amongst other issues, and has led the advice on some of the largest exercises in the market.

James is also a member of the Council of the Society of Pensions Professionals.


Iona Bain


Young Money Blog and Agency

Iona Bain is founder of the Young Money Blog and Agency. Since starting her website in 2011 to help millennials improve their money management, she has become the UK's go-to voice on young personal finance. She wrote her first book, Spare Change, in 2016, was named Money Blogger of the Year at the Santander Media Awards and later became the youngest governor of the Pensions Policy Institute. She appears frequently on TV and radio, writes for a range of national newspapers and websites and speaks at flagship events across the pensions industry and beyond. She currently holds the prestigious Freelancer of the Year title, as awarded by IPSE (the Association for Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed) and is proud to sit on the Next Generation Pensions Committee. She is also an ambassador for the Insuring Women's Futures Campaign.
