Lord Hutton of Furness
Lord Hutton of Furness was elected Member of Parliament for Barrow and Furness 1992-2010. He held a range of Ministerial appointments during his political career including Minister of State for Health 1999-2005, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office 2005, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions 2005-07, Secretary of State Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform 2007-08, Secretary of State Defence 2008-09.
From 2010 to 2011, Lord Hutton was Chairman of the Independent Public Service Pensions Commission; from June 2011, Chairman of the Nuclear Industry Association; from January 2012, Non-Executive Director of Sirius Minerals plc; from 2013, Advisor for Bechtel Corporation; from 2013, a Special Advisor for PricewaterhouseCoopers; from 2013, a Non-Executive Director of ARIX Bioscience Ltd; from 2014, an Advisor to Redington; from 2014, a Consultant to Lockheed Martin; from 2014, a Non-Executive Director of Circle Health plc; from 2015, Board Member of Simple Space Limited (a modular construction company); from 2016, Patron and Advisory Board member of NDI UK, from 2016, Non-Executive Director of Byhiras Group Ltd; and from 2016 Director of Cuban Mountain Coffee Company.
Lord Hutton is a member of the Group of Eminent Persons Panel of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organisation, Trustee of International Air Cadet Training and Chairman of the Cuba Initiative.
His political interests include defence, the welfare state, home affairs and legal affairs.
